CUPS version 1.4.8. This WarpIN package allows
you to install the Common Unix Printing System
(CUPS) framework for eComStation and OS/2, more
commonly referred to as "eCups". Common Unix
Printing System (CUPS) is a modular printing
system for Unix-like computer operating systems
that allows a computer to act as a print server.
A computer running CUPS is a host that can
accept print jobs from client computers, process
them, and send them to the appropriate printer.
It is developed and maintained by Easy Software
Products to promote a standard printing solution
and is the standard printing system in MacOS X
and most Linux distributions. Ported by Paul
Smedley. |

CUPS port driver revision 1.03.03 for OS/2 &
eComStation 2011-02-16. This is a first attempt
at a port driver for CUPS for OS/2 &
eComStation, based heavily on the source code
for LPR32 by Serge Sterck. What it basically
does is copy the print job to a temporary file,
then call cupslpr.exe (same as lpr.exe in CUPS
1.3.7 but renamed to avoid confusion with the
IBM lpr.exe) with the appropriate parameters. |

lack of some Mozilla Firefox, Thunderbird and
Seamonkey versions which do not offer
"direct-print" support under eCS or OS/2 they
just create PDF files. eMozPrint scans the
desktop for PDF files created by Firefox,
Thunderbird or Seamonkey. When a PDF is found,
eMozPrint prints this files automatically or
offers a dialog to print this files. eMozPrint
was built using "WDSibyl" (www.wdsibyl.org). |

eRedMan Version 0.9.3. (c) 2004-2008 copyrighted
FREEWARE by Herwig Bauernfeind. eRedMan is a
pipe redirection manager for eComStation and
OS/2. It is a general pipe redirection utility
(like printmon.exe or print2ps.cmd that comes
with ePDF, much mor flexible). Its equivalent in
the Windows world is RedMon. You also could
eRedMan as a universal port driver for every
purpose you can think of, for example as a Samba
Client for printing. eRedMan is able to monitor
multiple pipes and associate one program to a
particular pipe and execute it, whenever data
was written to the pipe. |

This is a port of Foomatic v4.05 for OS/2 &
eComStation. Ported by Paul Smedley. It was
built using GCC v4.4.4 and requires the libc063
runtime dll. Thanks to Alex Taylor for doing the
initial build of 4.04. Foomatic is a
configurable printing filter. It uses PPD files
as configuration to generate appropriate output
for a given printer. It is intended to be used
with the Common Unix Printing System (CUPS). It
uses ghostscript in the background, using
options according to the PPD file of the
printer. Currently it is developed by the
OpenPrinting workgroup of the Linux Foundation. |
